Dear friends,

The awards for the Arthur Troop Scholarship (ATS) were announced in the November IPA Newsletter. Congratulations once more to all awardees.

If you would like to apply for the ATS 2022, please note that the deadline is approaching fast: 31 March 2021.

Applications for this annual award are welcome from IPA members worldwide.

Each scholarship consists of a bursary of up to 2500 €, to be used for a seminar at the International Conference Centre IBZ Schloss Gimborn, or at a comparable institution, and careful consideration is given that preferably at least one award each year is granted to each continent.

Applicants must have been an IPA member for at least 3 years before applying, and the scholarship must be taken between 1 January and 31 December of the year following the awarding of the scholarship.

Arthur Troop Scholarships may be awarded to any IPA member active in a law enforcement role, but are predominantly targeted at our younger members.

Applicants are required to submit the ATS Application Form setting out their reasons to support their selection.

To apply, please follow the link: https://forms.gle/ATS Online Application Form

The International Administration Centre (IAC) will contact the relevant national sections for confirmation of IPA membership of the applicants after receiving the electronic applications.

The Chairperson of the Professional Commission (PC) and the ATS Coordinator Jan-Tore Hagnes will thereafter process the applications. After the assessment of the PC and the decision of the IEB, awardees for 2022 will be announced during the IPA World Congress in Spain in October 2021.

The Arthur Troop Scholarship Application Form, as well as the accompanying procedure providing more details, can also be found on the international website at:

Hi all,

I’m a Police Officer in the Metropolitan Police Service in Croydon, London. My role is a schools officer, whereby we are embedded in one of the many high schools across the borough. Our job is to investigate crime within the school premises, liaise with families and educate the children within our respective schools. Our primary role is engagement, as historically the police and youth have had a tenuous relationship, we hope to change those views by being approachable, involved in the school day and educate in police related subjects.

With Covid 19 featuring heavily across the world and it impacting on schools etc. I thought it would be an idea to show policing across the world and I was wondering if there are similar units to ours across the world who would be willing to do a short video of their working day, 2 minutes maximum that will be compiled into a short film that, when complete can be used worldwide. The video should contain an introduction, some short clips of the work you do and must be uniform.

It’s also hoped that we can foster closer working relationships with our international schools police officers in working practices etc, advice and friendship.  If you do have units, whether that be schools, college or university campus police then could you forward this email to them please.

Many Thanks

Dear Friends of Gimborn Castle,
Ladies, Gentlemen,we are excited to share with you our new seminar programme 2021. The ongoing pandemic and its unpredictable nature have prompted the IBZ team to design a seminar program 2021 that allows flexible response to the respective trends and developments. Especially for the international seminars in 2021 we offer three options: attendance, hybrid, online, depending on the actual situation with travel restrictions, social distancing rules and further limitations. We very much hope the program meets your interests and we can meet in 2021 in one way or another.Feel free to download the new program: IBZ Seminar Programme 2021

You can register either online on www.ibz-gimborn.de/seminaronlinebuchen.html or send an email to Cette adresse e-mail est protégée contre les robots spammeurs. Vous devez activer le JavaScript pour la visualiser..For any further question feel free to contact us.
